MAISON VALENTINO
This collection was developed during my master’s program at Accademia Costume e Moda under the mentorship of Yvan Mispelaere, Design Director at Maison Valentino. The challenge was to redesign the classic white shirt, a wardrobe essential, through a lens that honors Valentino’s heritage while bringing a unique, personal vision.
I found inspiration in the Mexican guayabera, a traditional wedding shirt from Veracruz known for its symbolic ritual: couples tie a red bow with their feet during the dance, believed to foretell a strong and lasting marriage. This story influenced the incorporation of a bold red accent throughout the collection, alongside pleating details drawn from the guayabera’s distinctive design.
